The corporations have made sure that their voices are heard with their high-priced professional lobbyists. Citizen lobbying is the way we make sure that our voice is heard, too. Here are some opportunities for citizen lobbying up at the Utah Legislature coming up:
- The ACLU is sponsoring a citizen lobbying training on Thursday, February 5th from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the ACLU offices at 355 N. 300 W. and will be discussing issues related to immigration, reproductive freedom, voting rights, and LGBT equality. More info can be found here.
- Planned Parenthood Action Council is sponsoring a Teen Lobby Day on Friday, February 27th from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Capitol. For more information, contact Joey Richards by email at joseph.richards@ppau.org, or by phone 801-524-1710 or (for Facebook users) check out the event info on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=51154091405
