2012 Legislative Survey

The Utah House Democrats have posted a survey for people to take on the 2012 Legislative Session.  Please consider taking the survey!

  1. It isn’t fair to charge smokers a higher Medicaid co-pay when others who put their health at risk do not pay a similar surcharge. In fact, it’s downright discriminatory. How about the millions of dollars large families cost the state in addition to those who are obese or who consume diabetes-producing foods on a daily basis — both are common among non-smokers here in Utah?? Do your research, guys.

    Moreover, the state already is taxing smoking products at an unprecedented rate.

    I hope civil liberties’ organizations threaten to sue the state of Utah.
